This original is oil painted on a wooden block. Each painting in this series features a small house with a wildflower pattern on one side of the house and star pattern on the other, a grey roof with a scalloped detail, colorful smoke coming from a red chimney on a white background. Every painting is a completely handmade, unique, original piece of art.
Blake makes each block by hand, so there is a slight variation in size but all are 3.5 wide, the height varies from about 5.25 to 5.75 inches. Painted on .75 inch thick wood block with stained edges. Ready to hang or display standing.
Amanda Blake received her BA in fine arts from the University of Oregon, studied watercolor in Siena, Italy and oil painting and print making at the Chautauqua Art Institute in New York. Her paintings use symbolism and the imagery of superstitions to explore the idea of fate and the search for meaning in the the world around us. She lives in Eugene, Oregon.
