What Is Oxidized Sterling Silver

Have you fallen in love with our mixed metal styles? They are some of our all-time best selling pieces! One of the elements that makes our mixed metal pieces so special is the Oxidized Sterling Silver, or the black metal finish.

Yep! The black metal finish is actually a nickel-free sterling silver that we've treated in our studio to make it that deep, rich black hue.

The oxidized sterling silver is different than traditional sterling silver because it's dark and not quite as shiny. The sterling silver has been treated with an oxygen treatment to create the flat black color. We make the metal black ourselves, giving each piece just a little more love and care!
