Nashville Strong Tornado Relief Necklace

Sold Out

Thank you to everyone who supported the Nashville tornado relief! We raised over $2900 for Hands On Nashville! This necklace was a limited time fundraiser and it is now retired as of 4/1/2020.

I designed this necklace to raise money to aid tornado recovery efforts. The gold shape is a minimalist reference to the tornado. The tiny sterling silver heart on the bottom represents the love of the community banding together in the wake of this disaster. 100% of profits from this necklace are going towards Hands On Nashville for tornado relief efforts. You can also donate directly to Hands on Nashville here

Just after midnight on March 2, 2020, an EF-3 tornado ripped through Nashville. I woke up to thunder in the middle of the night, checked my favorite Twitter account @NashSevereWx, and saw what had happened while I slept. There was no warning - it was raining and then it was mayhem. The pictures on my screen were shocking. I started checking on my friends in the tornado's path. Luckily, all of my friends were safe even though many of them sustained damage to their houses.

Bricks and debris were thrown everywhere. Huge steel electrical poles bent over completely. Houses, entire residential streets, essential government buildings (the ones that serve at-risk kids), businesses, cars, restaurants, schools, tattoo parlors, and on and on; the tornado left behind untold destruction.

Terrible, right? But now we look for the helpers. Tennessee Emergency Management has had zero requests for tarps (to cover holes in structures) because neighbors have provided them to each other. Restaurants unable to open due to lack of power are making food to hand out to victims and clean-up crews. Fundraisers are popping up everywhere for people who have lost their homes or businesses.

Nashville is amazing. This is why people come to visit and decide to move here. We will rebuild and help each other and be stronger on the other side. ❤️ Sending love to Germantown, East Nashville, Donelson, Mt. Juliet, and the other areas along the tornados path. #nashvillestrong
